Compensation
Wednesday, September 9, 2026 🔗
Payments for reboarding and cancellations that occurred in the June, July and August bid months will be paid on a separate check dated September 18th (LHR payments will appear on your regular September 16th paycheck). We have posted the list of the flights and flight attendants impacted in CCS so that you can cross-check the list with your records. [click the Pay tab in CCS to access IROPS Boarding Pay] If you have a flight segment(s) that is not reflected on the list, please submit a HelpHub request. A link to the HelpHub request is also available in the same location as the list.
Starting with the September 2026 bid month, reboarding and cancellations will appear on your regular monthly pay register. We ask that you allow at least two calendar days following the completion of the pairing for the information to update before submitting a HelpHub request. This will allow time for our systems to capture cancellations and reboardings that have occurred during the day.
You will likely need to submit a HelpHub request under the following circumstances for the boarding pay to be paid:
Re-crew: the flight has been boarded, however the crew times out and are replaced by a new crew
Deadhead converted to work on the same flight
Entire pairing is cancelled after the flight has boarded
Please allow two calendar days following the completion of the pairing before submitting the request in the event that the data is correctly captured and the boarding pay is correctly reflected on your pay register.
Effective with flights with a departure date of May 31, 2026, you will receive Boarding Pay. Boarding Pay is calculated based on the standard customer boarding times for the aircraft on which the flight is operating (This information is available in the SOP Section of the eFAOM) and is calculated at half of your hourly rate of pay as provided for in Section 4.A. of the CBA 2026.
Boarding Pay will display in the Pay Register under "Additional Pay (Other Rates)". This will update by the time each segment is completed and will show the total boarding pay for the pairing up to that point. For example, in the graphic below, pairing H3092 of May 31 had two segments, each with a boarding time of forty minutes (:40) for a total of one hour and twenty minutes (1:20) of Boarding Pay.
While the vast majority of flights are displaying Boarding Pay correctly, we are aware of a small number of flights with a May 31 departure date, which require manual intervention. These are primarily flights that depart on May 31 at the origination station but cross the International Date Line enroute back to base. These should all be updated prior to pay close for the June bid month.
Re-boarding:
Section 4.S.1.a.(1). provides "If a Flight Attendant boards a flight and all passengers are required by the Company to deplane, the Flight Attendant shall receive the boarding pay for each boarding." This language only applies in situations where boarding has already commenced and all customers are required to deplane, and then are reboarded for that flight. This does not apply when customers have the option to deplane, such as in the event of a delay. In those situations, Holding Pay would apply, but Flight Attendants would not be entitled to any additional Boarding Pay.
Cancellations:
Section 4.S.1.a.(2). provides "If a flight is boarded and the flight subsequently cancels, the Flight Attendant shall receive boarding pay for the boarding." This language ensures that Flight Attendants are paid for boarding even if the flight subsequently cancels. Should a flight cancel prior to customer boarding, no Boarding Pay is due.
NOTE: At the time of this publication, the data for re-boardings and cancellations are being captured, however the pay associated with the re-boarding or cancellation after boarding is not being calculated or displayed. Should you have a re-boarding or a cancellation after boarding, there is no action necessary on your part. We are aware that some crews have been advised to submit a HelpHub case. We would ask that you not do so. Flight Attendants will be paid for the re-boarding and cancellations, however that pay may be delayed while we verify the accuracy of the re-boarding/cancellation data. Once this issue is resolved, we will provide an update of when the impacted Flight Attendants will see the pay.
Domestic Purser pay has been updated for the June bid month. Narrow-body flying in the 48 contiguous States and Canada will be paid at $2; Narrow-body flying in Mexico, Caribbean, Central America, Alaska and Hawaii will be paid at $3; all wide-body will be paid at $4.
We have not yet introduced the Domestic Purser CBT training, so those rates are not yet in effect. Once that voluntary training is available, we will announce it through a One United communication.
We continue to work with our Digital Technology and Crew Pay teams on the payment of Boarding Pay in cases of Reboarding and Cancellations. As we communicated in early June, the data for re-boardings and cancellations is being captured, however the pay associated with the re-boarding or cancellation after boarding is not being calculated or displayed. Should you have a re-boarding or a cancellation after boarding, there is no action necessary on your part. We are aware that some crews have been advised to submit a HelpHub case. We would ask that you not do so. Flight Attendants will be paid for the re-boarding and cancellations, however that pay will be delayed while we verify the accuracy of the re-boarding/cancellation data. Once this issue is resolved, we will provide an update of when the impacted Flight Attendants will see the pay.
Effective August 2026 bid month, hourly pay rates will increase to the rates listed below:
The first paycheck on which these rates will be reflected will be the September 1, 2026 advance check for August flying.
We have good news on reboarding and cancellations that occurred in the June and July bid months. Crew Pay has finished verifying the data and is preparing to make the payouts. We do not yet have a check date, but the payment will be made on a separate check from the regular 1st and 16th payroll checks. When we have the specific date, we will update you with that information and how to verify the flights for which you are receiving pay.

In addition to all other applicable pay protection provisions, a drafted Flight Attendant shall receive four hours (4:00)Â of pay, including International Purser/Purser, galley, and language if applicable, for pay purposes only.Â
