To begin the brainstorming, I started with my computer science classes. Students are always at different parts of their projects and how could I enable them to monitor themselves. During my last semester in TCH 410, I attended a few professional developments in the Connecting the DOTs series. I found the speaker from Teach Better Team, Rae Hughart very helpful. I reached out to her and she shared some information on their Grid Method. While I chose not to do exactly what the Teach Better Team does but I adapted it to my own thing.
My idea includes providing the students with a Digital Notebook using Google Slides that allows me to give more immediate feedback to their planning and conclusion questions. I also want to use a Progress Monitoring Sheet to allow students to keep themselves on track as well as myself.
Finally, when incorporating the assessment component to my new feedback model I wanted to include the different Depth of Knowledges to tie it in with Standards Based Grading.
