Principal investigator

Luca Rinaldi

My main research focuses on identifying the learning mechanisms that support memory representations.

I am currently serving as PI on projects acquiring nearly €2 million of research fundings.

Postdoctoral fellow

Daniele Gatti

I am a memory researcher, primarily interested in false memory, semantics, and language. I completed my PhD at the University of Pavia in May 2022. My thesis focused on the intersection between semantics and false memory in the DRM task. I am an aggressive chess player and a poor (but passionate!) football player.

Vittoria Dentella

I am interested in the relationship between (psycho)linguistic theory and the kind of evidence that is brought to bear on its building. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD at Rovira i Virgili University with a thesis on the limitations of LLMs to act as cognitive models of natural language.

PHD STUDENTS

Giorgia Anceresi

I obtained my degree in Psychological Sciences and Techniques from the University of Pavia in 2019, followed by a Master's degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, and Human Sciences at the University of Pavia and the IUSS. Graduating in 2021, my thesis explored linguistic and visual processing of objects and actions. Post-graduation, I interned at the IRCCS Mondino Foundation, gaining skills in interventions within the context of neurodevelopmental disability. Since October 2022, I have been a doctoral student at the University of Pavia. My research mainly relies on the application of distributional semantic models to investigate the interplay between perceptual and linguistic experiences in the organization of semantic memory.

Francesca Maria Rodio

I started my academic journey with the acquisition of a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Gabriele D’Annunzio in Chieti and Pescara. In 2022, I obtained my master-s degree in Applied Experimental Psychological Sciences at the University of Milano Bicocca. Subsequently, I took on the role of a Research Assistant at the University of Milano Bicocca, actively contributing to a project centered on "Grounding and False Memories." Presently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. at the University School for Advanced Studies IUSS Pavia. My research interests predominantly focus on cognitive psychology, specifically delving into the relationships among cognitive learning mechanisms associated with spatial representations.
