The Transcultural Conferences of the UAI are intended to promote a scientific dialogue between different disciplines, from the history of thought to the social history, in order to let arise common reflections on the long term in a transversal disciplinary perspective interesting different civilizations. Bringing together specialists belonging to different horizons of research, from the intellectual history to the history of the images, from the history of social practices to the history of medicine and natural sciences, these Transcultural Conferences of the UAI ground on the idea that such a common reflection may stimulate new research questions and avenues. If the Transcultural Conferences of the UAI do not have any chronological, thematical or geographical limits, the following Conferences, some of them already published or forthcoming, started from the Western and Eastern medieval European civilization, confirming the very rich exchanges existing with the Jewish and the Islamic cultural traditions till the Renaissance.
The Transcultural Conferences are published by S.I.S.M.E.L - Edizioni del Galluzzo in the Micrologus Library Series. You can check all the publications on their website (some of the publications are available in open access).
