GENERAL SECRETARIAT

The Secretariat, headed by the Secretary General or, in his or her absence, by the Deputy Secretary General, shall be responsible for the execution of administrative decisions taken by the Bureau, for the dispatch of current business and correspondence, for the preparation of General Assembly sessions, for the custody of the archives and for the management of funds allocated to administrative expenditure, as well as funds intended for the financing of UAI projects.

Since the creation of the UAI, the Royal Academy Belgium has been coordinating the General Secretariat. The Permanent Secretary of the Royal Academy of Belgium also acts as Secretary-General of the UAI.
