Welcome! to WINEHOST, a tasting room training program for North Carolina wineries sponsored by N.C. Wine and Grape Growers Council and the N.C. Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services. A study of visitors to North Carolina wineries (Study of Visitors to NC Wineries) showed that friendly and personal customer service is the single most important determinant of satisfaction experienced by the winery guests. This site has been developed to give you a general overview of hospitality and customer service skills that are specific to wine, wineries, and the tasting room environment.
WINEHOST is comprised of 4 modules to help you with hospitality, customer service, and sales in the winery. Those modules are:

Making the Sale (The Sales Process)
You can go through any specific module by clicking (at anytime) on either the tab on the left or below, however it is suggested that you follow the modules in the order that they appear on this site. Once you complete all four modules you will have the opportunity to take an on-line certification exam to be certified in WINEHOST.
