The sustainability team works together to find the best solution which is sustainable to the community with certain constraints given to them. Last year's constraint was creating an apartment complex from an office building that would benefit not only people but also the surrounding areas. In 2025, after their hard work and efforts, they were able to place 4th against various teams from all over the Carolinas.
"A large part of the project was utilizing the engineering design process. As a team we went through about a dozen design ideas to create the best tiny house development we could. There were five main criteria we had to meet. The first being to design with the envision checklist, second use ten tiny homes, third create a common space, forth contain all sorcerer runoff created by the design storm and finally provide access to public transit or ride sharing. Besides that we were free to use any creative solutions we could come up with."
