T.8.1 Critical Fasteners

A fastener is a piece of hardware that connects components together. This is typically a bold or a screw in most applications, but fasteners encompass a broad spectrum of hardware and is an extremely general term.

Critical Fasteners are high performance fasteners, with the word "critical" indicating that their performance is pretty crucial to the vehicle performing properly and staying safe.  All of the information in the following rules is ultimately about ensuring these fasteners do not fail.
