For many of us, grading student writing is a challenging aspect of teaching. We want to support and motivate student writers and clearly and precisely delineate where student work does and does not meet assignment expectations. In this workshop, we’ll discuss a variety of approaches to evaluating student writing and to effectively communicating our assessments. You will leave the workshop with quick strategies to employ this finals week, as well as inspiration for refining your assessment strategies in future semesters.
Facilitated by Jessa Wood, Assistant Director, Writing Across the Curriculum.
Audience: Instructors, teaching assistants, and graders
