The PhD program requirements and policies are determined by three different organizational areas at the University of Minnesota:
PhD in Social Work Program (the “program” or “department”).
College of Education and Human Development or CEHD ( the “college”), and
University-wide Graduate Education Requirements, as enforced by Graduate Student Services and Progress (GSSP) on behalf of the University’s Graduate School
The School of Social Work is part of the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD). CEHD is home to seven academic units, three college-wide centers, and many innovative initiatives and departmental centers. The mission of CEHD is to contribute to a just and sustainable future through engagement with the local and global communities to enhance human learning and development at all stages of the life span.
