Surgery Interest Group (SIG)

SIG hosts various lunch lectures, surgical skills workshops, and provides mentorship opportunities that educate members about surgical residencies and life as a surgeon. Our group's primary focus is to foster interest in surgery, and provide ways for students to decide if surgery is a possible career choice for them. We arrange many opportunities for medical students to interact with and get to know surgeons, residents, and upperclassmen that are in rotations. We also provide opportunities for students to learn some of the required skills of a surgeon, such as knot tying and suturing.
