Get safety guidance for CEHD classes and offices this spring.
Make subject line descriptive, but not excessively long
Use an appropriate greeting (dear students, dear CEHD community, etc.)
When appropriate use personalization in your greetings. (This can be done in Salesforce using a data extension.)
Keep the message concise and use bullet points if possible
The tone should be professional and friendly
Be consistent with your font and avoid excessive bolding, italicizing, using different colors, using emojis, and using all caps
Include links where able to provide the reader more information and to reduce the amount of email text
Follow best practice guidelines on using links (descriptive language, not just “click here”)
Use visual elements where appropriate or helpful to the recipient
Add a simple closing and a professional signature
Proofread the email when finished
Send a test email to yourself or someone else to make sure all links work and no formatting problems appear
When sending multiple versions of an email over a short time, change it slightly so it appears “fresh” to the recipient (i.e. in subject line: register today, don’t forget to register, there is still time to register)
