Get safety guidance for CEHD classes and offices this spring.
Poster printing is available free of charge to faculty, staff, and students of the college and must be work-related.
Requests must be submitted at least 48 business hours in advance of pickup. We welcome as much notice as possible to ensure that the poster meets our guidelines and that staff is available. Printing service is first come first served, and will be completed Monday through Friday dependent on Dean’s Office staffing.
If the poster printing request is part of a conference and/or course where it is expected that 10 or more posters will be requested in a short time period, please reach out to the CEHD Dean's Office at cehd104@umn.edu with at least 2 weeks with advanced notice. This will allow us to ensure the supplies and staff are available for printing.
Please submit your request to the CEHD Dean’s Office at cehd104@umn.edu using the subject line: Poster Printing Request - Preferred completion date and time. In your poster printing request, please include:
Both the original PowerPoint file and a PDF version of your poster
Dimensions that your poster needs to be printed
Preferred completion date and time
Create your poster in PowerPoint. Be sure to enter the dimensions of your poster in the Design>>Page Setup. Poster templates are available on the CEHD Brand Templates page.
We print on a 42″ paper roll. The largest dimensions that can be printed are 42 inches × 56 inches. We only use one size of poster roll (42 inches) and we are unable to print on smaller or larger poster paper. Please keep in mind that we do not offer cutting or trimming of posters and small posters may print with a lot of white space around the borders. If your request is for a smaller poster (such as an event flyer that is 15" by 48"), please consider reaching out to Printing Services or check with your department for resources.
The poster MUST display University of Minnesota branding for conference materials, with exceptions for work printed for class. Inclusion of the college brand is strongly suggested.
To reduce ink costs, poster backgrounds MUST be white.
To save on resources, we will no longer print posters that have a solid background. Any posters submitted with solid backgrounds will be rejected with notification to the submitter, increasing the time needed for production and printing any revision.
Once your poster has been successfully printed, you will receive an email notifying you that the poster is complete and ready to be picked up in 104 Burton Hall.
We do NOT provide tubes, please bring your own.
In situations where we are unable to print the poster due to time constraints, and/or technical difficulties with our poster printer, please reach out to Printing Services. We will provide as much notice as possible if there will likely be an issue in meeting the requested printing deadline.
