In 2026, we made a shift from an internally-focused service model to an externally-focused strategic model designed to drive enrollment, elevate our faculty's research, and expand the reach of the college and the academic units. To guide this transition, our work is aligning around four strategic priorities:
Transition internal communications, direct event logistics (catering, room bookings, tech support), and non-marcom administrative tasks to unit management so I can focus on high-impact initiatives for our department.
Continue managing CEHD and academic unit external channels (PR, main website, social media, Connect magazine) and college-wide communications like the Burton Brief.
Regular, proactive consultation on enrollment marketing, unit marcomm strategy, branding alignment, and best practice recommendations for unit communications and engagement efforts.
Supporting student recruitment efforts, telling our department's story to external audiences, and building a robust data infrastructure to guide academic program marketing decisions.
The document below outlines some of the expected shifts in workflow, supportive resources and strategy that unit communicators will review with unit leadership.
