The mission of the Graduate Nursing Student Council is to foster relationships within the nursing community, promote interprofessionalism, and provide opportunities to enrich professional growth. The council provides learning opportunities for the Master of Nursing (MN) cohorts as well as the Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) cohorts by facilitating interactions with nursing professionals, fostering relationships between students in the MN1 and MN2 cohort through a mentorship program, planning social events, developing opportunities for community outreach, and planning Lunch & Learns.
Membership is open to every student within the Master of Nursing cohorts and the Doctorate in Nursing Practice cohorts regardless of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, gender, age, marital status, disability, public assistance status, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. Members must be currently enrolled at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, registered for a minimum of six credits, in good standing, and free of any sanctions as defined by the Board of Regents Policy-Student Conduct Code.
