To apply a course from another institution towards your curriculum requirements, you must submit a petition. Transfer courses cannot exceed 40% of your official program coursework, equivalent to 21 credits for the MN program. Courses will be considered if they comply with Minnesota Board of Nursing regulations and fulfill MN program requirements.
A course qualifies as a transfer course if:
It was taken at another institution.
It was taken for another graduate degree at the University of Minnesota, but not within the School of Nursing (e.g., School of Public Health).
It was taken before admission to the MN program and is noted on your transcript as non-degree.
It is a program course that has been petitioned and approved based on equivalent work/life experience.Â
