On-Campus Date Requirements

Please consult the University of Minnesota Academic Calendar for fall and spring semester start and end dates. Summer semester term dates are 10 weeks in length. Courses during the summer will begin on the designated date below and continue for 10 weeks.

Fall 2025

Fall semester begins on Sept 2nd, 2025

Length: 15 weeks

Starting the day after Labor Day

Spring 2026

Spring semester begins on Jan 20th, 2026

Length: 15 weeks

Starting the day after Martin Luther King Day
Spring Break: March 9 - 13

Summer 2026

Summer semester begins on June 8, 2026

Length: 10 weeks

Official start of summer session on UMN calendar

The School of Nursing follows the University of Minnesota academic calendar for breaks and closures. For specific dates when the university is closed or when there are no classes due to breaks, please filter the academic calendar by “No classes” and “University closed.”
