CUSP Certificate

ECE students with an interest in sustainable power can receive a "Documented Emphasis on the CUSP™ Curriculum" certificate by taking selected classes in the Power and Energy technical area.  CUSP™ stands for the Consortium of Universities for Sustainable Power, a group of universities nationwide that support the CUSP™ curriculum.  More information about the Consortium and the curriculum is available on the CUSP website.  Professionals in the renewable energy industry are becoming aware of the CUSP™ curriculum, and the certificate helps students demonstrate expertise in sustainable power when applying for jobs.

The CUSP™ curriculum requires the completion of three lecture courses and two lab experiences.  Note that these courses may also count as breadth, depth, and lab courses in the EE technical program.  The requirements for the certificate are detailed below.

Lecture courses--complete 3 of the following 4 courses:

Lab courses--complete 2 lab experiences:

If needed, students may substitute a power and energy oriented Senior Design project or a sustainable power and energy co-curricular experience (e.g.,  a project through Innovative Engineers) for one of the two laboratory experiences.  For questions about acceptable substitutions, please contact the ECE undergraduate academic advisor.
