Undergraduate Academic Advising

Academic Advising supports students as they progress through their degree program. The Undergraduate Academic Advisor helps students plan their courses so they can complete their degree in an efficient manner. Academic Advising also supports students' personal well-being, mental health, and academic progress. The Academic Advisor can provide additional resources to students who would like personal or academic help.

All ECE students are required to meet with the ECE Academic Advisor once per semester in order to review academic progress and plan for the upcoming semseter. Students are welcome to schedule more appointments as needed.

In the ECE Department, "departmental stamps" (know as a DS hold) are added to all student accounts upon admission to the major as a way of managing the Academic Advising process. When a student complete their advising appointment, the DS hold is moved out by one semester to allow future class registration. Please see the Frequently Asked Questions page for more information on departmental holds.
