The CSE Career Center is the best place for ECE students to get information and assistance with all aspects of job and internship searches. If you are starting your first internship search, they can help you get your Handshake account set up. For those further into their search, the CSE career counselors can help with cover letters, resume reviews, interview prep, salary negotiations.
Job and internship postings that the ECE Department receives are placed in the weekly undergraduate student newsletter The Current.
The department encourages students to engage in pre-professional work experience opportunities such as research, internships, or co-ops. ECE students usually start to look for internships starting the summer after sophomore year and junior year. These pre-professional work experiences enhance a student's resume and may help a student find more direction in their technical elective coursework. During their undergraduate years, over 70% of ECE students engage in internships or co-ops, and many students receive full time job offers from their co-op or internship employers.
