ECE PhD students are required to meet with their faculty advisor(s) each spring to discuss their performance and progress over the prior 12 months. Each PhD student is required, by University policy, to receive written feedback about their academic performance on a yearly basis. If a student does not have a faculty research advisor or if there are any questions about the process, contact the department's Graduate Program Coordinator (ecedgsoffice@umn.edu). Before submitting the document, the student and faculty advisor(s) must meet to discuss and review the form to ensure they agree on the information.
You and your advisor will receive an email in the spring with directions and a PDF of the form you will fill out, or you can follow the directions below to download a copy.
Download the Annual Progress Review for ECE PhD Students. You are making a copy of this google document for your own purposes.
Immediately rename the document from "Copy of [Your Name]-[Semester and Year]...". Remove "Copy of" and type in your name and the current semester and year where appropriate. See image below. You rename by clicking in the title above the dropdown menus.
Open the document and follow the directions in the document carefully, filling out the appropriate items in green as well as the completed/planned courses. The document is fully editable and not a fillable form, so if you compromise the formatting, utilize the "undo" feature to fix. Once you have finished filling the student part, print or email a copy to your advisor(s) so they can complete their part.
