Visiting Students

Visiting students will need to go directly through the MHealth Fairview Education office (Olivia Haines , olivia.haines@fairview.org) for badging and Epic access. She will email you with badge and Epic info one week prior to the start of the rotation. The information below for badging and Epic access only applies to UMN medical students.

Badging for UMN Medical Students

You will need a current badge to rotate within the MHealth Fairview and HealthEast systems. The badging office needs a three week notice prior to your start date if you need a new badge. Requests submitted later than three weeks prior to your start date may not be completed prior to your start date.  This includes badges that are expired; the same amount of notice is needed to renew an expired badge.

We are transitioning to bulk badge requests by graduating class. However, individual badges can still be requested.

Please email olivia.haines@fairview.org if you need to request a new or renewed MHealth/Fairview or HealthEast* badge.  When the badge is ready, you will receive an email with directions about picking up the badge. All photos must meet these qualifications (we will use your MEdIS photo as long as it meets the qualifications). Once you are notified that your badge is ready, you will be able to pick it up at the address below:

Midway Corporate Campus (main entrance)
1700 University Ave W
St. Paul, MN 55104
Hours: M-F, 8:00AM-5:00PM

If you already have a current badge (not expired) but are having access issues, please contact your course coordinator. They can reach out to accesscontrol@fairview.org with the students name, email and badge number and explain the access issue. Please include Olivia Haines (olivia.haines@fairview.org ) in the email.

*Please specify if you are requesting a HealthEast badge. These are separate from the MHealth Fairview badge and the process differs slightly.  HealthEast Badges are needed for rotations at St. John's Hospital and Woodwinds.

If you are a visiting student, you will need to go directly through the Education Office for your badge. Please reach out to Olivia Haines at olivia.haines@fairview.org.

Fairview Epic for UMN Medical Students

Your Fairview Epic credentials can be found in your MEdIS profile. You are able to access Epic remotely once you set up the Fairview  Secure Gateway.

If you need to reset your password for Fairview Epic, you can do so here: https://mypassword.fairview.org/

If you have trouble getting access, please contact the help desk at: 612-672-6805.  Please write down the INC number related to the incident raised so that additional steps can be taken if it is not resolved.

If you are a visiting student, you will need to go directly through the Education Office for Epic access. Please reach out to Olivia Haines at olivia.haines@fairview.org .
