PREPSS Peer Reviewer Guidelines
Your role as a PREPSS reviewer is to support authors in getting “in the door” at a peer reviewed journal (i.e. be accepted for peer review). We do not expect our peer reviewers to to be content experts. Keep in mind that authors will receive another round of rigorous peer review from a content expert at their target journal.
PREPSS policy prohibits peer reviewers from joining the author team on manuscripts they review.
PREPSS peer reviewers are welcome to collaborate on peer reviews with another PREPSS peer reviewer. Please contact us at prepssadmin@umich.edu if you would like to collaborate with another PREPSS peer reviewer and we will work with you to organize this collaboration.
PREPSS peer reviewers receive access to the other peer reviews written for the papers they are evaluating. This provides a valuable opportunity to learn from their peers’ comments and reviewing style.
Please review our author guidelines for more information and tips for reviewing papers.
PREPSS supports health researchers in improving their research articles for successful publication in their target peer-reviewed journal. Review by PREPSS does not guarantee publication in the author’s target journal.
