The ME-Engenuity committee aim to create an inclusive environment within the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Michigan. We believe that all students should feel safe and free to express their true selves no matter their race, gender identity, ethnicity, sexual identity, or class identity. The MEGC Engenuity committee works with both the department-wide Engenuity committee as well as the department Engenuity lead. Previous events have included Black History Month celebration, Spirit Day, Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration, Day of Silence, and celebrations of many different New Years (Lunar New Year, Nowruz, Diwali, etc.).

Black History Month Book Club
The ME DEI Alliance invites you to our Black History Month Book Club featuring Race after Technology by Ruha Benjamin.
"From everyday apps to complex algorithms, Ruha Benjamin cuts through tech-industry hype to understand how emerging technologies can reinforce White supremacy and deepen social inequity. This illuminating guide provides conceptual tools for decoding tech promises with sociologically informed skepticism. In doing so, it challenges us to question not only the technologies we are sold but also the ones we ourselves manufacture."
