Facility & Resources

Building Access

Building hours for the public are 7am-5:30pm Monday-Friday. Doctoral students will be granted 24 hour building access. Please maintain the security of the building and your belongings by keeping interior doors locked when offices and workspaces are vacant and by not propping open doors and windows.

Cubicle Space

The Department space policy from 2011 states:

    • Doctoral students will have a cubicle if they do not have any type of work space on campus other than in HBHE (i.e., cubicle or office); must live in the area; and relinquish their cubicle if needed.

Whenever possible HBHE strives to provide cubicle space for each of our PhD students in residence. Most cubicle spaces are located on the 3rd floor in suite 3800 of SPH I.

  • If you are on leave, you may be asked to vacate your space in HBHE.
  • If you have been approved for study away from campus, you should expect to vacate your space in HBHE. As new students come in, see Candy Ellis or Jackie Cormany if you have questions about your space.
  • Cubicle 3-8A has been designated as a "flexible space for PhD students" and has a computer; open on a first come first served basis.

MiStorage (SPH U:\drive)

Each doctoral student will have their own storage space on the SPH U:\drive. The path is “U:\HBHE\PhD”. The storage folder will be labeled with the student’s last name. It is highly recommended that you work and store your documents in this space. It is secure and is backed up regularly. You may find remote access guidelines on The Heights under Computing Support and Technical Guides & FAQs.

Printing & Copying

Doctoral students will receive limited printing and copying privileges through the department. A copy code will be assigned at the beginning of the academic year.
