Set information about the course sections in your coach
Add Tips, Quick Links, and FAQs for students
Coach: If you edit the details here, it's the same options as when you first set up your coach on the Institution Details page.
Downloads: Here you can download different types of data, including:
Tailoring Data - data from all of the tailoring characteristics for your coach.
Survey Data - student responses to a specific survey.
Credit Reports - how many points each student earned (or didn't earn) for completing an ECoach activity.
Learning Management System: If you automatically connect to Canvas, you don't need to fill this out. If you don't automatically connect, contact ECoach Support to help you with this.
Use this area to choose which sections are actively using this Coach.
Examples:
In a physics class where only 1 instructor uses ECoach, we deactivate the other instructors' sections.
In a stats course where we have two separate ECoach instances, we deactivate the sections for Instructor B in Instructor A's coach (and vice versa).
If you want to tailor to a specific section of the course:
In MTS, first create and publish a characteristic such as LectureSection or DiscussionSection.
In ECoach, use the Sync Now button on the Communications Manager page to sync MTS and ECoach.
On the Coach Details page, click Add Course Characteristic.
Then choose the MTS characteristic and type of section to connect.
Tips are small bits of advice that appear to students on the coach homepage under the Featured Bulletin in a section called Tips of the Week.
You can set them up to change weekly so students see the right advice at the right time in the course.
Right now, tips require a specialized setup in MTS. Contact ECoach Support if you're interested in setting up tips for your coach.
These appear in the "Quick Links" box on the coach homepage.
Examples: Canvas sites, online textbooks, external websites for homework or quizzes, course study resources
Students will see FAQs when they click their username and choose ECoach Help from the dropdown menu.
Coach-specific FAQs are questions and answers that are specific to a particular coach or coaches (e.g., about extra credit or deadlines).
Institution-wide FAQs are questions and answers that apply to every coach in your institution.
