Through the facilities of BlankSpace Workshop, a student run organization that specializes in cresting a platform for playwrights to workshop their materials, I had the pleasure of working on an original musical of a fellow University of Music, Theatre, and Dance student. The cycle ran three weeks, with the initial process featuring read throughs, editing, Alex composing new songs, and collaborative development by the team members and myself. The musical is a one act at the moment, and is an ongoing process; however, the workshop displayed this ongoing work on December 2nd and heard immensely positive feedback. The experience opened me up to a new world of editing, feedback, and creativity; it was fascinating to collaborate with so many artists in one room, and I look forward to doing something similar in the future.
