Overview

Universiti Malaya is committed in providing a safe, inclusive, welcoming and responsive environment for all students, faculty members, staff and visitors. Under the Security Office of the Universiti Malaya (PKUM), the security and safety of the campus, its community and the University as a whole is well guarded through the 24 hours a day and year-round protection provided by PKUM security staff. 

The services provided by PKUM in ensuring the safety of UM community are: 

  1. 24-hour monitoring and control counter service at the headquarters of the Security Office. 

  2. Registration of workers from external sources/processing of temporary Worker Pass. 

  3. Acting as centre for complaints/ reports involving security, emergency and unexpected cases. 

  4. Conducting and investigating complaints of criminal cases on campus. 

  5. Assisting in the preparation of directional sign boards. 

  6. Assisting in the control of traffic. 

  7. Assist in controlling and security monitoring for special programmes and exhibition sites. 

  8. Managing and maintaining close circuits television cameras (CCTV).
