To promote and coordinate all international initiatives across campus, Universiti Malaya through the portfolio of Associate Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement) take an active role in sustaining university-wide internationalisation and globalisation. Objectives and global strategic plan are determined in order to elevate the ranking and reputation of university ranking of becoming a globally influential and preferred university among students and staff.
An international strategic plan encompasses the following goals:
Goal 1: Visibility (enhance International Profile & Reputation & Digital Presence)
Goal 2: Integrate into core mission (T&L, Student Global Experience, Research)
Goal 3: Strategic Partnership (Global Impact, International Research, Power/Partner, & Address Global Challenges)
The Deans' or Directors' responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Identifies opportunities for collaborations with prospective partner institutions (including collaborative academic programmes as well as research).
Liaises with the International Relation Centre to enquire if any MoU/MoA already exist with the potential partner institutions.
Initiates communications with the potential partner institutions if there is no existing MoU/MoA.
Oversees the coordination of international visits at the faculty level.
International Relation Centre promotes internationalisation in Universiti Malaya through collaborative academic programs, MoU/A process, international visit and opportunities in research collaboration.
The Deans' or Directors' responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Appoints Marketing Liaison to assist with the marketing activities and queries related to programmes offered by the Faculty.
Supports initiatives by the Marketing and Recruitment Division by encouraging Faculty's participation in local and international marketing strategies and activities.
Marketing and Recruitment Division is a centre that coordinates all activities related to academic programme marketing, promotion and student recruitment.
The Deans' or Directors' responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Encourages student inbound and outbound mobility applications and admission through initiatives by the Global Enrichment and Mobility Division.
Global Enrichment and Mobility Division manages the student’s mobility and enrichment program of the Universiti Malaya.
