Before you choose an article to read, consider skimming the Article Review Form to read the questions you will answer.
The articles are divided into three categories: choose the category that interests you! The full text for each article can be found in this folder.
Level 1: What is Peer Tutoring? Learn some basic ways of defining and understanding how peer tutoring works across institutions.
Level 2: Tutoring Dynamics. Read about strategies for structuring tutor-tutee interactions.
Level 3: Teaching and Learning Theory. Discover theories of collaborative and scaffolded learning.
Read a couple of paragraphs before making a final decision to read that whole article. After you have chosen an article, you will start reading it and considering your answers to the questions on the Article Review Form.

Before you read, open the Article Review Google Form and look over the prompts on the form.
As you read, take notes as you read that will help you formulate your answers. The goal is for you to learn/think about something that will be useful to you as you continue your work as a tutor/LLA, so consider how content of the article be relevant to your work.
If you have trouble understanding the article, don’t worry: you can choose another article and/or talk to Dr. Weber for help.
Once you finish reading the article, type up your answers to the questions on the Article Review Form, submit your response, and email LCLC Staff (lclc@uic.edu) to let us know you finished your review. Once you submit your review, an LCLC Staff member will read your response and send you feedback about it.
