For this lab, you will be combining two images to create a single composite image using GIMP, a free image editing software. This is in preparation for Assignment 2.
Download GIMP from https://www.gimp.org/downloads/ and install it onto your machine.
Steps:
Find two images that you would like to combine, where you will be cutting from one image to paste onto the other.
Go through the GIMP tutorial steps to do the cutting / pasting to make a new composite image.
Create a Google Doc that has your two original images as well as the new composite image.

I encourage you to explore the tools in GIMP on your own too! You may discover cool features that are shown or used above.
Below is an example composite image created using GIMP, where the two photos on the left were edited and combined to make the single image on the right:
Once you are done, you must set the permissions to allow us to access and grade your work! Do this as follows:
Select the green "Share" button near the upper-right
Select "General Access"
Select the option for "Anyone with the Link" is an "Viewer"
Once you are done and once you make sure the permissions are set correctly, copy the link to your Google Doc (to do this, click on "Copy link" under the sharing settings). Turn this in on Gradescope, under "Lab 3: Image Editing Using GIMP."
This lab must be completed by 11:59pm on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. No late submissions will be accepted.
