INterested in volunteering?
4-H depends on volunteers to lead clubs, help with special events, keep youth safe during programs, provide subject matter expertise, and promote a positive learning environment.
Not sure you have time to volunteer? Volunteers can commit to helping with one-time events, chaperoning week-long programs, or leading a club year-round. There are also over 50 projects 4-H members can choose from, so as a 4-H volunteer you can share your passion for what interests you.
Volunteer Positions
4-H Club Leader - Be the adult leader for a new or existing 4-H club. Coordinate club activities, give guidance and direction, and serve as a primary contact person for the club.
Project Leader - Assist 4-H members enrolled in a specific project gain knowledge and skills in that project area. 4-H Judge - Help youth recognize their accomplishments and evaluate their performance during exhibits and presentations.
Mentor - Work directly with individual youth or small groups to help them set goals, foster a sense of belonging and independence, and master skills that will prepare them for their future.
Special Event Volunteer – Special Events are held throughout the year to help members learn about topics of interest. Volunteer support for the planning of these events ensures local needs are met and adequate supervision is provided
Association Member - Assist 4-H Staff and other volunteers to determine program priorities, ensure the needs of all youth in the community are met, and expand the 4-H program to new audiences.

The 4-H Office will contact you to complete a background screening and review volunteer opportunities.
Volunteers who would like to be a club leader, attend overnight events, or work with youth for more than 10 hours a month will need to be fingerprinted in addition to the standard background screening.
