There are many County Level and State Level awards available to youth in the 4-H Program. We encourage youth and their families to review award opportunities so they can maximize their opportunities for recognition of their hard work.
To be eligible for County Level awards, youth members must submit a completed a record book. All Record books completed and assembled in full are due to the 4-H Office (check back for dates). This should include the 4-H youth's project record books and overall 4-H report compiled and signed by the youth, parent/guardian, and club leader according to the information in the "Guide for Putting Your Member Record Book Together" which is also on our Projects page.
Youth are recognized for their 4-H Project accomplishments at the annual 4-H Awards Banquet held on June 5th, 2026.
The Standards of Excellence, or Clover Awards, are awarded to youth in the 4-H program based on their participation and involvement in the 4-H program.

Juniors are eligible to earn a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Clover Award
Intermediates and Seniors can earn a Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Emerald Clover Award
Award Levels
Each Clover Award Level has its own performance standards that the member must achieve to earn that level of award. The levels are based on participation in the 4-H Program on the Club, County, District, and State levels, as well as their leadership, citizenship, and community service. 4-Her's must achieve all of the requirements for each award level in order to move to the next.
Age Divisions
Each age division has its own set of standards to achieve to earn recognition. The expectations become greater as the 4-H member matures through Cloverbud, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior levels.
The goal of this award is to encourage youth to explore the many opportunities available in the 4-H program and to become active participants throughout their 4-H career. Submitting a complete Member Record Book and doing a Demonstration are requirements for all Clover Awards, but you do not have to earn a blue ribbon on your record book or demonstration to apply for any of these awards.
