Faculty Role

Faculty at the UD School of Nursing strive to maintain open communication with preceptors throughout the clinical rotation. Faculty work in partnership with preceptors to provide students with opportunities to develop skills and critical reasoning in the care of patients, or populations. A faculty member or a clinical site visitor will complete one or more clinical site visits for each student during the academic semester. Preceptors who have concerns about a student’s professional behavior or performance at ANY time during the semester are to contact the course instructor as soon as possible. Preceptors provide students with mid and final semester evaluations. Final course grades are the responsibility of the faculty members leading the respective course.
