Letters of Recommendation

When applying to graduate school, you want to have the strongest letters of recommendation as possible. Below are the steps to follow if you'd like Dr. Kunz to write you a letter of recommendation:

  1. If you believe that Dr. Kunz can write you a strong letter of recommendation, contact her via email with your request at least six weeks prior to your earliest application deadline.

  2. If Dr. Kunz agrees to write you a letter, complete the google letter of recommendation request form.

  3. When you have your list of programs ready, you will then do the following:

a. Download, complete, and save Dr. Kunz's program information spreadsheet.

b. Have a draft of the following documents ready to share with Dr. Kunz:

    • Your current CV

    • A personal statement

c. Waive your rights to view your letter for each program. When students apply to programs, they are asked whether they wish to waive their rights to view the letter or not. You do not have to waive your rights but if you choose to not waive your rights, I will not be able to submit a letter for you.

d. Provide Dr. Kunz with the following for each program's letter:

    • If a letter is to be submitted online: an email from each university where I am to submit my letter

    • If a letter is submitted by mail: addressed envelope as well as any supplemental forms to complete

    • If I am to return the letter to you for you to submit: an envelope that includes the name of the university

  1. Submit Dr. Kunz's program information google form at least four weeks before your earliest application deadline. You will be asked to upload your program information spreadsheet, CV, and personal statement in this google form. You can access the program information google form here.

If at any point throughout the process you have questions, be sure to talk with Dr. Kunz as soon as possible.
