About The SSIB Lab

We are an experimental social psychology lab and we approach our research questions from various theoretical perspectives.

A primary theme throughout our work is bias; we seek to better understand the psychological processes and motivations that underlie bias. We examine bias in several ways, including the predictors and consequences of biased self-perception, how biased perceptions of the self and others vary as a function of hormonal changes associated with fertility, and the extent to which gender and racial biases impact our perceptions of others, health, and attitudes Additionally, our work examines factors that impact interpersonal attraction across the menstrual cycle.

The specific research questions examined in the lab will typically fall under one or more of these intersecting topics.
