Welcome to the official Hub's Peer Educator's Training Curriculum. This curriculum will teach Peer Educators on skills of outreach and leadership in order to benefit students in need.Â
Plenty of students at UC San Diego face some form of insecurity in their lives. As of 2022, around 42% of UCSD students face food insecurity, 54% of students face housing insecurity, and 7.6% of students face houselessness. Often these students face stigma from society and as a result, they may feel ashamed to ask for assistance.
As such, The Hub needs Peer Educators, such as yourself, who will provide a safe and non-judgmental environment for other UCSD students; as a Peer Educator, you will strive to educate your community on the resources available at The Hub Basic Needs Center.
Address concerns students have with accessing nutritious food, stable housing, and financial wellness resources
Provide necessary resources and a safe environment to those who face these challenges
Destigmatize utilizing basic needs resources
Engage in transformative dialogues
Build community to help one another
