Arrive with enough time before the session to set up equipment and start the session on time. End the session on time. Wait for 15 minutes for the client to show before canceling a session. You will be paid for the session.
Put all equipment away and secure the facility at the end of the session.
The Wellness Studio is strictly reserved for Personal Training, WorkStrong, and Strength & Small Group Training Classes.
Always lock the door to the studio before leaving it unattended.
Please note: For risk and liability, Wellness Studio access is not allowed for business or personal use when RIMAC is closed (both during building closures and outside of regular business hours). This policy is the same for all indoor Rec facilities and Triton Fit Park.
Trainers are expected to wear a clean Recreation shirt (not sweaty), athletic pants, and closed toed/heeled athletic shoes when training clients.
All FitLife Personal Trainers, Massage Therapists, and Pilates Trainers have a profile on Acuity Scheduling (AcuityScheduling.com).

Clients schedule their appointments via the links on our recreation.ucsd.edu website.
To cancel appointments, go to Appointments and open Appointment Calendar. Select the appointment you want to cancel. In the pop-up window you can cancel or reschedule. An email will be sent to your client. CLICK HERE for a step-by-step video.
First time clients will need to schedule their own appointment. After that they can purchase a package, give you the code, and you can schedule an appointment for them. Every appointment requires a payment by credit card or package code.

Clients will schedule, reschedule, cancel, and pay for appointments via the Acuity Scheduling platform.
Personal trainers, massage therapists or private Pilates trainers must contact their client as soon as possible if you are unable to attend a session due to illness or emergency. Please reschedule your appointment with Acuity Scheduling.

It is a violation of UC San Diego policy to conduct any private session as an independent contractor or handle any financial transaction directly with a client. Trading services with fellow Recreation colleagues in UCSD Recreation facilities is not allowed. This violation will result in immediate termination.

If you are going to train a client at Canyonview’s fitness gym or at/in Canyonview’s pools, please email Fitness Coordinator VLaniawe@ucsd.edu at least 2 business days/48 hours in advance. This allows the Canyonview team to know to expect us.
For private pool lessons, Canyonview typically reserves lane 19 (the second to the shallowest lane). However, if you would prefer to use a different area of the pool, you can specify that in your request, and they will do their best to accommodate your needs based on availability.

Pilates Trainers ALSO adhere to the Acuity scheduling calendar and rooms assigned. Do not deviate from schedule or room assignment unless co-workers have been contacted and confirmed it is approved. Use your name and the first and last name of your client when making a reservation.
