Report any facility or equipment problems immediately to your supervisor or the FitLife office. If you report the problem to the Facility supervisors do not assume that the FitLife office will be notified.
Harassment and abuse of any kind is not tolerated by the university. If you experience, witness or are informed of any misconduct, report it immediately to your supervisor.
Instructors/trainers/therapists are not allowed to promote or sell outside products or services while teaching or working with a client. It is a violation of UC San Diego policy to use UC San Diego property, equipment, time, and funds for external business purposes.
Instructors/trainers/therapists expected not to discuss private UC San Diego Recreation’s business office or FitLife's procedures or protocol with students/clients during classes/private sessions.
Instructors/trainers/therapists are expected to stay compliant with all UC Learning required trainings as listed below.

As part of the University's efforts to address the increasing threats to the security of information systems and data, you have been assigned this security awareness training program, required of faculty and staff at all UC locations.

The University of California requires completion of the General Compliance Briefing: UC Ethical Values and Conduct training for all UC employees who are not extramurally funded researchers. This briefing is designed to raise continued awareness of the University of California Statement of Ethical Values and Standards of Ethical Conduct, and to convey University employment obligations with respect to ethical and compliant behavior. The purpose is not to teach University policy or ethics but to familiarize UC employees with important ethics and compliance information, issues and resources. In addition, this briefing will provide information about reporting instances of non-compliance. The training is available through the UC Learning Center (login required). This training is for employees who are not required to complete California’s AB1825-mandated training for supervisory employees. The training meets the legal requirements of SB1343. It provides information on preventing and responding to sexual violence and sexual harassment and what each of us can to do to make our UC culture safer for all. It will take a minimum of 1 hour to complete. This course includes a section specific to requirements under Title IX and the Clery Act. This course contains information on sensitive topics that include sexual violence; if you find that you need an alternate activity to meet this requirement, please contact your location Title IX officer. This training will take approximately 60 minutes to complete. Please note this time on your timesheet after completion.
All employees must complete this training once every two years.

Overview of the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, commonly known as the Clery Act. Addresses the statute, in addition to requirements of the University and the campus security authority (CSA). This course covers requirements of University of California policy. Topics include Clery Act requirements, CSA responsibilities, reporting obligations, Clery crimes and Clery geography, and campus resources. This training provides an overview of the University of California's Abusive Conduct in the Workplace Policy. Topics include:
An overview of what is and isn't abusive conduct
Guidance on how to prevent abusive conduct
Guidance on how to respond to and report abusive conduct, if it occurs
Resources and reporting options available to UC community members who have experienced or witnessed abusive conduct

This training was developed in accordance with the training requirements of California Labor Code section 6401.9. Its goal is to help members of the UC community understand and report workplace violence, and to be able to recognize and respond to escalating behavior.
By the end of this training, you should be able to:
Define workplace violence under California state law
Be familiar with the elements of the Workplace Violence Prevention program at your location
Report incidents of workplace violence through appropriate channels
Access resources and services at your location for additional assistance and training
This course should take approximately 25 minutes to complete.

RECREATION FACILITIES
FitLife classes and room reservations have priority over Open Recreation users. If at any time you experience a conflict with another user, please alert the facility supervisor and your supervisor immediately. Facilities that are not scheduled with classes or room reservations are available for Open Recreation. Most facilities have a schedule posted outside. Please refer to this schedule. If at any time you enter a facility and find that equipment moved, missing or broken and/or you find it in disarray please contact your supervisor immediately.
RIMAC Activity Rooms –Locker combination 2313.
RIMAC Fitness Gym Pit – Check in with Weight Room attendants. Classes of 17-20+ have full use of the space, classes of 13-16 have use of ¾ of the space, classes of 9-12 have use of ½ of the space, classes 8 or less have use of ¼ of the space. Work with attendants to reconfigure the Pit if necessary.
RIMAC Wellness Studio – Lock box is located outside the southeast door of the studio. The combo is 3485. Make sure doors are locked and lights are off at the end of your session/class. Please return the key immediately. Only authorized users are allowed access.
Main Gym Cycle Room –Students must clean bikes at the end of each class. Soiled towels are deposited in the bin at the door. FitLife assistants launder towels and return to the cabinet.
Main Gym Fitness Room – Locker combination 2313.
Main Gym Natatorium – Lifeguard or facilities supervisor opens the pool, stereo is located in Rec Gym Storage Room A. Please return stereo to the storage closet at the end of class.
Rec Gym Activity Room – Key to Storage rooms A & B are in the lock box on the door, combination 2313. Please return the key immediately.
Main Gym Massage/Pilates Rooms – Locker combination 0655. Soiled massage linens are deposited in hampers in both Massage rooms. Used Pilates towels are deposited in small bins or the hampers. FitLife assistants launder linens/towels and return linens to cabinets in the Serenity and Balance rooms and return Pilates towels to bookcases in the Energy room.
Canyonview Pool – Equipment is located in the Rec Class storage on the north side of the weight room on the exterior wall. The lock combination is 3-5-23.
