Course Description: A general communication arts class in which we read a variety of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, speeches and all other forms of communication not enumerated in this list. In addition we will create a number of real world projects to publish to authentic audiences.
Students will learn about concrete and specific imagery to help them paint a picture with words. In addition there will be lessons on figurative language and sound devices.
Using the tools we develop in class students will write five poems over topics of their choice. The students with the best poems will take a trip to the recording studio. All students will record at least one poem and create a video to go with it.
