Ingredients:
1 can of coconut milk (no additives or sugar added),
Note: If able to make your own coconut milk from fresh coconuts, the taste will even be better and much healthier
1 medium onion finely diced
1 fresh lemon
1/2 cup clean drinking water
Salt to taste
Directions:
1. In a clean medium-sized bowl, pour in the coconut milk
2. Add the onions and mix well
3. Add water and juice of the lemon and mix well
4. Add a little salt according to taste
Serve in a clean cup, to eat on the side with freshly hot baked taro, or hot baked green bananas or hot baked plantain banana, or hot baked breadfruit.
Note: If you have access to a Samoan oven (umu) to bake your taro, banana, and breadfruit, the taste of the food is so delicious.
Optional preparation with fish:
Samoan Miki is a very healthy simple organic dish to enjoy with baked food as mentioned above.
For those who eat fish, Samoan Miki is also served to eat with baked clean fish.
