WELCOME!
I'm glad you've decided to stop by! Through my 21 years of working with courses in a variety of modalities, I’ve had a lucky opportunity to design a number of diverse learning experiences and instructional tools. Creating syllabi, lesson plans, learning materials, assignments and assessments for various face-to-face, blended, and online learning experiences such as conversational/business English/German and German/English for Specific Purposes (ESP) courses of different levels for university students and adult learners couldn't but stimulate my strong interest in adult learning and training design.
Creating the courses for faculty members’ professional development became my official introduction to the highly intriguing world of instructional design and e-Learning development. This included designing the e-Learning modules and some related interactive materials for the training program “Teaching Translation and Interpreting Online” that is featured on this site. Preparing the related instructional design/e-Learning development documentation presented in this portfolio (e. g. the needs and audience analysis results, instructional design documents, e-Learning storyboards, prototypes, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, etc.) was part of that important mission too.
As the work on that and on the other projects featured in this portfolio suggest, in the process of preparing the educational materials, I prefer to consider different factors which usually help learners become motivated and hence involved in their training. Therefore, all those materials typically include various pair, small-group, and/or peer-review activities as well as role plays, scenarios, simulations, group discussions, and/or real-life problem-solving activities.
Incorporating modern technologies into learning materials and activities allows me to make training even more engaging and dynamic. I am sure that this experience will continue to inform my instructional design and e-Learning development activities in the future too.
