Shopping
Shopping in Canada, and North America in general, can be different than shopping elsewhere in the world. There is a strong focus on customer service, which includes performing actions that may seem annoying to those not used to the shopping experience here.
Tips & Reminders
Sales associates often say hello or ask how you are doing. You can say hello back, and if asked how you are doing, reply positively (ex. "I'm good, thanks").
Sales associates will often ask if you need help or are looking for something specific in the store. If you do not want help, say that you are "just browsing" or "just taking a look".
Sales associates will often watch or follow you from a distance, but don't be afraid to ask for help when looking for something!
Prices are fixed and non-negotiable.
Stores close in the late evening, anywhere from 6:00-10:00 pm depending on the store.
At the end of a purchase, it’s nice to say thank you or wish them a nice day in return.
