New Teaching Quality Support in the MD Program
The Teaching Quality Coordinator positions were created to recognize and celebrate the hard work and dedication of our teachers. We are here to listen to your teaching opportunities and challenges, provide guidance and support, foster a shared understanding of effective teaching practices, and highlight the excellent teaching that takes place across the MD Program.
Our approach is boots on the ground, our help is practical and evidence-based, and our goal is to encourage, empower, and help you build confidence in your teaching skills.
Our services and resources will focus on supporting pre-clerkship teaching in large-group learning environments.
The following initiatives will be available to you:
Teaching Observation & Feedback
New-to-teaching feedback
Requested observation of live lecture or vodcast for teaching development
Peer observation for teaching self-reflection, including multifaceted feedback for professional growth, annual reporting, or tenure and promotion processes
MD Program rotating observations
Teaching support for small group sessions
Observation and feedback focused on small group facilitation
Consultation regarding plans for growth as a teacher and facilitator
Consultation to discuss areas of challenge in small group facilitation
Teaching Questions and/or Consultations
