Professionalism is specific style of behaviour exhibited in the work or learning environment - whether it be the classroom, the clinic, or in broader professional circles - based on the values and professional roles established within the Profession of Radiation Therapy (CAMRT Code of Ethics), the Radiation Therapy Program (Mission and Vision), and the University of Alberta and Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry (Mission, Vision and Values).
Professionalism is more than mere politeness: it is an attitude conveyed by the sum total of your words and actions in all circumstances and at all times. Students of the Radiation Therapy Program are regarded as professionals and as such, are expected to consistently:
Make every effort to work collegially with fellow students, instructors and program staff and make a positive contribution to the creation of a supportive learning community
Have respect for the dignity of others and be considerate and courteous towards the University's diverse community
Respect the property of others and make proper use of the University's facilities and resources
Behave and practice in a manner that ensures your own health and safety and that of others
Be honest and have regard for the good name of the University
Show consideration for, and behave and practice appropriately within the local community and when representing the University
Comply with the Radiation Therapy Program's Dress Code
