Profile
ProfileHamida Mokhtari joined the IRC team in 2013, and has a comprehensive knowledge of the group, its students, and its projects. Hamida has a Master's in geographical science and urban planning, as well as a Bachelor's in engineering. With a background in entrepreneurship and management, Hamida is responsible for overseeing finances and human resources for the IRC.
Hamida is fluent in three languages, and her global awareness is an asset as she endeavours to recruit students from leading institutions around the world to join the IRC research team. She also appreciates the emphasis that the IRC places on sustainability in construction.

Profile, Education and Current Role
ProfileJonathan Tomalty studied at the University of Alberta as an undergraduate, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science ('06) and a Bachelor of Education in Secondary Education ('09). Jonathan first joined Dr. Al-Hussein's research group in 2007, working as a technical writer while studying at the University of Alberta. After completing his studies and working as an educator for three years, Jonathan returned to work with Dr. Al-Hussein's research group in 2012.

Current RoleJonathan provides administrative support to the Industrial Research Chair, overseeing research dissemination and grant application, budgeting, and reporting, assisting with coordination of research activities, and liaising with industry partners. His key duties include preparing journal manuscripts and dissertations for publication, coordinating grant applications, liaising with granting institutions and the research services office on behalf of the IRC, preparing formal reports to the department and granting institutions on the research activities of the IRC, preparing budgets and budget reports for grants, providing writing support to graduate students, and assisting with the organization of formal meetings, workshops, as well as events which raise the profile of the IRC's research activities in the community and industry.
