About Us
Dr. Mohamed Al-Hussein was appointed Chairholder of the NSERC Industrial Research Chair (IRC) in the Industrialization of Building Construction upon its establishment in July, 2011, and held the Chair for two five-year terms.
Dr. Al-Hussein's research is being implemented by industry partners in innovative applications. The IRC's team of graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, research staff, and support staff occupy lab and office space in the third floor of the Markin/CNRL Natural Resources Engineering Facility, but regularly travel to sites and manufacturing facilities to collect and analyze data, carry out field observations and plant tours, and collaborate with industry practitioners to confront the challenges facing today's construction industry.
