Research

The University of Alberta Geotechnical Centre is a rigorous and active research team comprised of Faculty members, Professors emeritus, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and research associates and technicians. 

Our Centre has a prolific and internationally esteemed history of research, development and practice in a range of geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering subjects, including tailings and mine waste management, geomechanical reservoir engineering, repository geomechanics, stress and fracture flow, cold region engineering, geochemistry, ground hazards and railway research.
