Welcome to your Critical Care Rotation at the University of Alberta Hospital!
Please review the below information prior to your rotation.
In person orientation will occur on the first day of the block from 1300 - 1500 hrs in the large conference room on the unit (3C1.04 WMC)
Mandatory Attendance: As part of your rotation, you are expected to attend the following:
Critical Care Grand Rounds: held every Tuesday except the 3rd Tuesday of each month, from 1230 - 1330 hrs in 2-193 Clinical Sciences Building or via Zoom
Critical Care Medicine Academic Half Day: held Wednesday afternoons from 1330 - 1600, located in 2-125 Clinical Sciences Building

Call Schedule
You will be a part of the Senior Resident call schedule, and are expected to self-schedule 8 home call nights (including 2 weekend days) in each 28-day block ensuring there is no duplication of calls. Please see your program manual for details on call scheduling expectations.
If there are any changes to the call schedule, please email ccmedu@ualberta.ca to ensure stipends are submitted correctly.
If you are scheduled to work a statutory holiday during this block, you are entitled to take a day in lieu. Please submit a Leave Request Form as soon as the call schedule as been completed. If this is not submitted in a timely fashion, it may not be possible to grant leave on the requested date. Days in lieu must be taken during the same block as the statutory holiday.
