Indigenous Health

Why Indigenous Health?

Indigenous Peoples in Canada represent a range of beautifully diverse, resilient communities that are present in every province across this country. The First Nation, Metis, and Inuit People across the country face significant health barriers due in large to racial discrimination and the legacy of Residential Schools and other government policies.
Given the diversity of factors contributing to Indigenous health today, we hope that you not only develop a multifactorial understanding of the barriers Indigenous peoples face when it comes to health care, but also learn more about how to support your future Indigenous patients through gaining an appreciation of different cultures, traditions, and more.
